Announcements 2/6/17

Attention Middle School Parents:

We are in the middle of cold and flu season, and we are seeing many students absent or sick at school with stomach viruses, fevers, and a variety of cold symptoms. Please consider keeping your child at home if they have been feeling ill. Children returning to school should be free of fever and have had no vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours.  Please help keep the other students and staff healthy by ensuring that your child is well enough to return to class.

Calling all Wyoming Adults!

  • Did you ever sing in a high school choir?
  • Do you enjoy singing, but are too busy for a long commitment?
  • Are you a teacher, parent, lover of music?

Come One, Come All and join the Adult Saengerfest Choir at the High School this February. Did you know that every year during this time, adults from the Wyoming community come together for a few weeks, form a choir, and perform on a concert with the Wyoming choir students? This year we have an exciting concert planned for our Saengerfest performance.  Our theme is “Forever Singing” and will involve both the middle school and high school choirs.  We will include a variety of music by Mozart, Stephen Foster, and some world music.  Our portion will include the music:  “Blue Skies,” “Beautiful Dreamer,” “Festival Sanctus,” and “Oba Se Je.”  We will combine up with the 62 member WHS Concert Choir when we perform.  All adults are welcome, whether you are a professional singer or just sing in the shower.

Adult Choir Rehearsals will take place in the WHS choir room on:

  • Tuesday, February 7th    at 7 p.m.-8 p.m.
  • Tuesday, February 14th  at 7 p.m.-8 p.m.
  • Tuesday, February  21st  at 7 p.m.-8 p.m.
  • Tuesday, February 28th   at 7 p.m.-8 p.m.

The concert is: Tuesday, March 7th   at 7:30 p.m.

I would love if you could join us.  Everyone is welcome to come sing.  Bring a friend.  You will perform as part of our choral program and be with others who enjoy singing.
