Wyoming Middle School Drama will be performing a farce of Canterbury Tales early in February, and there are 60 characters to dress! We are hoping the community has some costumes that could be generously donated. We are dressing kids of all sizes: from preteen to adult. We are happy to come pick up anything you are willing to part with, just email email@example.com ! We prefer donations because we aren’t sure if we can return items exactly as we receive them. Thanks in advance for your generosity.
If you have something you would like to clean out, we are in need of the following items:
*briefcase*ANY medieval clothing you might have from peasant to princess! Think Renaissance Faire or Monty Python! If you have bits and pieces, that would be great. We can cobble complete outfits together. So…tunics, vests, flower hair garlands….*Thanksgiving Pilgrim clothes (Don’t ask! This is a farce!)*Cowboy hats (4)*Cowboy boots (men size) (3 pair)*Cowboy belt buckles (4)*Monk robes (3)*Preacher robes*Priest outfit*Two chicken/rooster costumes (It’s gonna be a silly show! Do come!) *Fox costume*Elvis costume*Guard helmets (2)*doctor’s coat/costume*farm animal masksAgain, thanks so much. And come see the play. You will laugh for sure!
We have some openings to sell chip wheelies at upcoming events this Winter and Spring for WSMA. WSMA (Wyoming School Music Association) supports the music programs in our schools from Kindergarten through High School. If you have an hour or two to volunteer, we can use your help. These ice cream sandwiches are a huge favorite with the kids (and adults). It’s easy!! We handle the ordering and delivery of Chip Wheelies to a special freezer at the High School or Middle School. We’ll supply you with signage, a cash box, and instructions. It’s a short time commitment. Concert sales take less than an hour of time. If you are interested in volunteering, the link is: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0949a5aa2ea75-wsma

Attention 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls:
We will be having a spring session of the Girls on the Run program, which is a self-esteem fitness program designed for pre-teen girls to discover the benefits of consistent physical exercise and good nutrition, learn the advantages of positive peer support, learn to stand up for herself in a healthy manner, improve her body image and strengthen her sense of identity, and prepare to participate in a 5K run.
12 to 15 girls will be accepted to the program that meets twice per week, from February 13 – May 13. On May 13, all 120+ teams come together for the GOTR 5K at Paul Brown Stadium. We will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays after school until 5 pm. Because each lesson combines running activities with character development topics, and builds upon the previous lesson, girls MUST be able to commit to BOTH days per week for the entire season. With a limited number of spots on each team, please only sign your daughter up if she can make this commitment. Spots are only open to those who have NOT participated in the middle school program already, unless we have open spots after registration has closed.
We will be accepting applications at the end of January. I will post another blog post when this time comes. Please check out the program information, as well as time and monetary restrictions at www.gotrcincinnati.org. If you have any further questions, feel free to email Stephanie O’Hara at firstname.lastname@example.org
