Attn: All Geocachers!

During second quarter of school (Oct-Jan), we will be teaching an experienceship on geocaching and orienteering to small group of students. There are some geocaches near the middle school that we would be able to find during the 90 minutes we get on Wednesdays to explore. However, most are too far away for us to travel to safely by foot. If you enjoy geocaching and would like to hide/tag a geocache before the end of October, we would love some help adding more. We are trying to keep the students from crossing over Springfield Pike if possible, north of Grove Park and south of Oak park. Thanks so much! If you are an avid geocacher and would like to help a few Wednesdays in Nov/Dec from 1:30-3:00 pm, please contact Stephanie O’Hara at oharas@wyomingcityschools.org. Thanks and happy geocaching!

Attention All 7th Grade Parents: The deadline to turn in documentation for the vaccinations required for 7th grade year is quickly approaching. All 7th grade students are required by Ohio Immunization Law to have a Tdap (tetanus and pertussis booster) as well as a meningococcal (meningitis) vaccine for the 2016-17 school year. Letters regarding the 7th grade vaccination requirements were sent home with all incoming 7th grade students’ report cards at the end of the previous school year. Proof of administration for both vaccines is required by September 1, 2016. Any student that does not have proof administration will be excluded from school beginning September 1, 2016 until documentation of administration is provided. If you are unsure if your child has the required vaccines documented, please call the WMS school nurse, Angela Judge at 206-7182 to verify or email at judgea@wyomingcityschool.org

Attention parents of 6th grade girls: Registration is open for Girls on the Run. Go to http://www.gotrcincinnati.org/ to sign your daughter up. This is a wonderful program that works on building self confidence, a support system at school and becoming healthier – both mentally and physically. Practices are Mon and Wed after school til 4:45 from Sept 12 – Nov 19. On Nov 19, all schools participate in a GOTR 5K run downtown. Any questions can be sent to Stephanie O’Hara at oharas@wyomingcityschools.org

Each year the Wyoming PSA hosts an annual Magazine Sale through Wyoming Middle School. This magazine sale is one of the top PSA fundraisers, generating over $30,000.00 for the schools over the last three years. PSA receives 50% from each subscription sold and proceeds help offset the cost of Camp Kern for 6th grade students as well as the 8th grade Chicago trip.

This year’s sale will run from September 1st-22nd.  Supporters may renew or purchase subscriptions online before or during the sale by going to www.apmags.com and selecting “I’d like to shop and support a school”.  The code for Wyoming is WB3027.
