WMS Play – “Aesop’s Foibles” is this evening, February 5 and Saturday, February 6 at 7 p.m. in Pendery Auditorium. This hilarious comedy features over 60 WMS students on stage and behind the scenes. Tickets are only $5 each and are on sale this week before school and at lunch, as well as before each show. Perfect for young audiences – so invite your friends, family, and neighbors for another fun WMS play!

Last year, the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) unveiled a new opportunity called College Credit Plus, designed for 7th through 12th grade students in Ohio public schools to earn high school and college credit (dual credit). Luggage Drop-off – Luggage Drop-off for the Chicago trip will take place on Thursday evening, February 11th from 4:30 p.m, until 7:30 p.m. Please bring luggage to the Lobby of the middle school for check-in.

Medications for Chicago Trip – If your child will be requiring medications of any kind during the Chicago trip, a medication form signed by your child’s physician and parent/guardian must be turned into the nurse. This includes all prescription and over-the-counter medications. Medications cannot be dispensed by the nurse without a signed medication form. The medication form can be found at this link: medform REV 2_27_13. All medications must be dropped off to the school nurse by Thursday, February 11th to allow for timely departure on Friday.

Social Media Task Force Event – The Wyoming Social Media Task force is pleased to present an expert panel discussion on the impact of social media usage on students and families. Please join us Wednesday, February 17 at 7 p.m. in the Wyoming High School Pendery Center to get answers to all of your questions and concerns about the health and wellness of your family in this digital age. The expert panel will include professionals from legal, medical, educational, and mental health fields who will share their perspectives and field questions from the audience about social media and technology usage and its impact on your family’s health and wellness. Wyoming PSA is holding a garden seed sale February 1-29. The proceeds from this sale will be used to help the primary schools purchase STEM and technology equipment. There are no individual incentives or prizes with this fundraiser and we hope that everyone in the community will participate. Saving for College – On February 18th the WHS College Counseling Department is hosting an information session on saving for college. This session is geared toward families with children at the Middle School and Primary School level. The session will be conducted by Certified Financial Planner, Kevin Reperowitz. SAVE THE DATE for the Wyoming Youth Services Pancake Breakfast – This year’s breakfast will be celebrating the arrival of spring with a fun Under-the-Big-Top theme, at the Civic Center on March 12th (8-11:00 am). This marks the 15th year for this much-loved & anticipated community event. There will be great musical entertainment, a wandering magician, fun games for the kids, great silent auction & raffles items and, of course, the best pancakes in town. They are the best because they are made by dedicated volunteers that give their time year after year to help Wyoming Youth Services continue it’s mission: Strengthening our Community through Volunteerism, Prevention, and Support.

The Cincinnati Children’s Choir (CCC) Satellite Choir program is gearing up for its spring session! All singers from 3rd through 6th grades are welcome to join, no audition required. Satellite choirs give students a chance to make new friends and build musical skills without the cost or commitment of a full choir season. Our singing opportunity will be available for singers at Northminster Presbyterian Church on Compton Road in Finneytown. Attention all Model UN participants. The final payment of $165 is due to the main office by February 19. We have extended the original due date by one week. Please make checks payable to Wyoming City Schools. We leave for Columbus on Sunday, March 13 at noon and we will return to the middle school on Tuesday, March 15 at about 2:30. More details will be sent as we get closer to the departure date.”
Information About Upcoming Track and Field season – All 7th and 8th graders are eligible for joining the track and field team. The start of the season is about 1 month away. If you are interested please register through Final Forms. Registering does not commit you to be on the team but will allow the coaches to email information about the upcoming season.
