PARCC testing for grades 7 and 8 has gone well this week.  In spite of a few minor network issues, testing went smoothly and the students and staff did an excellent job of going with the flow.

Calling all Pancake Lovin’ Runners,

Don’t let a little snow and cold stop you from participating in the upcoming WSF 5K FUNRUN.  It may still be cold outside—but signing up for the 5K FUNRUN is a HOT deal!!

The unofficial kick-off to spring arrives on MARCH 14, when the Wyoming School Foundation (WSF) and Wyoming Youth Services (WYS) team up to provide Wyoming families with a morning of fitness and breakfast!

Start your morning by participating in the 5K FUNRUN.  Check- in begins at 8:00 a.m., with the race starting at 9:00 a.m. at the corner of Worthington and Beech. The course winds through the village of Wyoming streets—run it twice for the full 5K.

  •  Register by FRIDAY March 6, and receive a FREE commemorative t-shirt.
  • On-line registration continues until March 11th.
  • First 500 registrants receive a coupon for a FREE GRAETER’S ice cream cone.

REGISTER at wyomingschoolfoundation.org

Once the run is completed, head down the street to the Civic Center for a rewarding, delicious PANCAKE breakfast, sponsored by WYS.   Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids, 3 years and under free.  Enjoy yummy pancakes, (plain and chocolate chip) syrups, sausage, fruit, coffee and juice!

Proceeds from the FUNRUN benefit the Foundation’s Middle School Capital Campaign.  Proceeds from the Pancake Breakfast benefit Wyoming Youth Services.

Fitness AND breakfast for the whole family…what could be better??

Optional Rising 7th Grade Elective Meeting – Attention 6th grade students who need more information to make a decision about a Foreign Language (French, Latin or Spanish) or Art Elective for next year.  There will be an optional meeting after school on Monday March 2nd in the Learning Commons.  Our Foreign Language teachers and Art teacher will be presenting information about their class.  The meeting should be finished by 4:15.  Please email (oneills@wyomingcityschools.org) or call (513-206-7178) Shelly O’Neill to RVSP.  Students may also sign-up in the office.

The Wyoming Middle School Variety Show will be held on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18.  Auditions will be held on Tuesday, March 3 at Pendery Auditorium.  8th graders are invited to audition to be an Emcee, in addition to auditioning with their own act.  All other students may audition with one act.  There will be a theme chosen AFTER the audition process.  Please read the guidelines on the Sign-Up Genius link carefully as some things have changed since past years – including the audition times for various acts. The rehearsal schedule is also listed on the sign-up.

Go grab a group of friends to audition (there is more “safety in numbers”).  Good luck, have fun, mix it up, be silly, and enjoy the process!  The Variety Show is a special event at Wyoming Middle School and we are thrilled you are interested in auditioning!  Please go to the following link for Sign-Up Genius: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0849adae2dab9-wyoming2
