Attention Middle School Parents:
We are seeing many students absent or sick at school with flu-like symptoms and stomach bugs. Children returning to school should be free of fever and have had no vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours. Please help keep the other students and staff healthy by ensuring that your child is well enough to return to class.

TRANSITION TO THE MIDDLE SCHOOL
The Wyoming Middle School staff has been working hard to ensure that the transition back to Wyoming Middle School will be as smooth as possible. We cannot thank you enough for your flexibility and continued support during construction. I also would like to thank your children for exceeding our expectations.
I am excited to tell you that we are on time and will begin to move on December 19th. We will welcome our students to the new WMS on Tuesday January 6th. As we prepare for the move, you may see boxes in classrooms and in the office. We appreciate your understanding as the move gets closer.
On December 11th and December 15th, we plan to walk our students to WMS to begin the transition with them. It is very important that we help our students become as comfortable as possible with the move. Our 7th– 8th grade students will tour the middle school on December 11th during 2nd – 4th period. Our 5th– 6th grade students will tour the middle school on December 15th from 8:20 – 10:35. We plan to allow students to visit classrooms and other important areas of the building.
We are asking that you click the following link to complete the digital permission slip. Please complete the permission slip no later than Tuesday, December 9th.
Our middle staff will walk with students. Students will be supervised and we will remind them to stay on the sidewalk and crosswalks. The Wyoming Police also plan to be present while students are walking on Burns and Wyoming Avenue.
Over the next few weeks, we will be sending email and blog communications with many more details about the move and transition back to Wyoming Middle School. I have attached a timeline for your convenience.
After the grade level tours, the building will not be open to the general public, students or parents until January 6th. We appreciate your understanding as we try to make the building as comfortable as possible for our students.
Thank you for your continued support and flexibility!

5th Grade Holiday Party – Beginning next Monday, each 5th grade homeroom will have a box to collect dental hygiene products to be given to Valley Interfaith Food and Clothing for distribution to those in need.
6th Grade Holiday Party
Wyoming Middle School 6th grade students will be making gifts during the holiday party on Friday, December 19th for families who are “displaced” and staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
The 6th Grade students will be assembling “take away snack bags” and a small snowman ornament for the families of children staying at the Ronald McDonald House. The bags will contain a small snack and water bottle for the parents many trips back and forth between the house and hospital to help defer the cost of vending snacks. The small snowman ornament will be an added gift to the family. At the end of the party, the 6th grade should have a total of 155 take away bags to share!
We are requesting a $5.00 cash donation from each student to cover the cost of the materials. However, any donation will be greatly appreciated and students will participate in the project whether or not they donate money. Please send in your $5.00 cash donation to your child’s homeroom teacher no later than Wednesday, December 17.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or your child’s homeroom parent. Thank You!
