WMS Musical:  The middle school musical production, “Seussical, Jr.,”opens tonight at Pendery Center and will presented again Saturday evening. The performance begins at 7:00 p.m. both nights.  Tickets are $5.00 and may be purchased at the door.

This Sunday is LaRosa’s PSA day!  Take a break from cooking and let La’Rosa’s do it for you, while they donate 10% of your sales back to the Wyoming Parent School Association (PSA).  All monies donated go directly to the Wyoming PSA, and the money is used to do some amazing things for our kids, like field trips, new playground equipment, the list is endless!   Print out the attached flyer and submit it with your payment at time of purchase.  Go Cowboys!  https://wyomingmiddleschool.files.wordpress.com/2014/09/larosas-psa-flyer.pdf

Do you know someone who has made a significant volunteer contribution to the City of Wyoming?  How about to the Wyoming Schools, to their church or synagogue, or to the general Cincinnati community?  The Promote Wyoming Committee (PWC) is currently seeking nominations for their annual Citizen of the Year recognition ceremony.  Selections are made from nominations sent in by their friends, family, and fellow community members.  Please see the attached flyer:  COY nomflyer

PWC sponsors this annual celebration, held each January, to publicly recognize Wyoming citizens who have made significant volunteer contributions to Wyoming and/or to the City of Cincinnati.  Nomination forms are on-line:http://www.wyomingohio.gov or can be found in the lobby of the City Building, or Wyoming Rec Center.

Please nominate someone today—forms due by October 31.

PARENTS

We will be starting our Fall Fitness Assessment next week in PE.  Students will be asked to perform the 1-mile run in order to help access everyone’s cardiorespiratory endurance. If your child uses an inhaler at school and carries the inhaler him/herself, please ensure it is with them at all times, especially during these assessments. Students with inhalers in the nurse’s office should come use their inhaler before and/or after class as needed. Muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility will also be assessed.  If your son or daughter is injured or has a medical condition that will require they be excused from these activities, please have them bring in a note for class.  The results of our fall assessments will help our students develop and plan long-term goals of achieving health-related levels of fitness throughout the year.

Wyoming School Music Association “WSMA” supports the music programs in our schools from Kindergarten through High School. If you have an hour or two to volunteer, they can use your help. WSMA sells Graeter’s Chip Wheelies at home football games, Middle School plays, and all the school concerts. These ice cream sandwiches are a huge favorite with the kids (and adults).  Haven’t sold Chip Wheelies before?  It’s easy!!  WSMA handles the ordering and delivery of Chip Wheelies to a special freezer at the High School.  They’ll also supply you with signage, a cash box, and instructions.  It’s a short time commitment. If you have younger kids who want to attend a home football game, you’ll have a good excuse for being there. Concert sales only take about an hour of time. If you are interested in volunteering, the link is:http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0945adae2aa46-chip.  Questions?  Call Penny Shore at 761-2416 or email at penny.shore@gmail.com
