Announcements 8/28/14

Grades 5 & 6 Open House:  The staff at Wyoming Middle School would like to invite you to Open House scheduled for grades five and six this evening, August 28, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.  These programs are designed for parents only and provide a wonderful opportunity to meet the teachers and learn about their classes.

Please report to your child’s homeroom classroom for your child’s schedule.  Please get this information from your child.

We look forward to seeing you at Open House.  If you have any questions, please contact the main office at 206-7170.  We recommend that you consider parking in the gravel parking lot behind the middle school complex.  There will be a volleyball game at the high school this evening.


Request for Double Mailing:  According to the Wyoming City Schools Board of Education Policy 8330, in the case of shared custody, parents can annually request a double mailing to receive school information such as report cards. The form for double mailings is available on our website under the Parent tab.  Please send the completed form to the appropriate school building(s).


All 7th graders must receive a Tetanus Booster (Tdap) for the 7th grade year and provide documentation to the school nurse that the vaccine was given. Documentation of the vaccine needs to be submitted to the nurse no later than Tuesday September 9, 2014. Students unable to provide this documentation will not be allowed to come to school on Wednesday September 10, 2014 and will need to be vaccinated in order to return to classes. If you are unsure if documentation of your child’s Tetanus booster is on school file, please call the nurse, Mrs. Angela Judge, at 206-7182.


The WMS Magazine Sale has begun!  This is our school’s biggest fundraiser.  We need everyone to sell, sell, sell.  We will also need volunteers to help us accept orders from students in the morning and process orders in the evening on the following dates:  September 4th, 11th and 18th.  Please go to the following link and sign up for a volunteer time slot.  If you have any problems opening the link, copy it and paste it in your browser.  If you have any questions contact Beth Easton 761-0513 or Kristen Gettins 821-2789.  Many thanks!


Invitation from Wyoming Parent School Association (PSA)

All Wyoming City Schools parents and interested community residents are invited to attend PSA’s annual kick-off meeting tomorrow, August 29th at the Board office (420 Springfield Pike). Social time with refreshments begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by the meeting at 9:30 a.m. Come meet and hear remarks from school administrators including an update on the middle school construction project. Latin Club:  There is a Latin Club meeting today after school.  Latin Club will meet every Wednesday after school until 4:00 p.m. where we will learn about all things Roman.  5th and 6th graders are welcome!


Tech Committee:  The tech crew applications for the musical “Seussical, Jr.” is now available at  Fill out the form and then hit “submit.”  The applications will be reviewed by our tech coordinator and directors. The tech crew list will be posted early next week.
