Wyoming Youth Services Summer Program: Did you know we offer a FREE Summer Program to youth entering 5th through 8th grade for school year 2014-2015? This program runs from June 9th to August 7th from noon to 2 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. This year we will award-winning photojournalist and author Miki Turner (Journey to the Woman I’ve Come to Love and Tomorrow) will be offering a two-week intensive mini-camp this summer designed to help everyone take better photographs. We will also have sports clinics in Football, Karate, Volleyball, Dodgeball, Yoga, Hip Hop Dance, and Candlepin Bowling with some taught by local coaches. We will have three very exciting outings to the Retro Arcade for unlimited video game playing, a day of fun playing in the creek at Cincinnati Nature Center and a day of zip lining at Dagaz Acres. We will participate in the city-wide scavenger hunt and swimming once a week for free at the Family Aquatic Center. Registration packets are available at the main office at Wyoming Primary and Middle schools & online at http://www.wyomingyouthservices.com/. Completed packets are due TUESDAY, JUNE 3rd. Space is limited!
Parents of 8th graders: The 8th Grade Ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 5 at 7:00 p.m. in Pendery Center for the Arts at Wyoming High School. Rehearsal is Thursday morning, June 5th, at Pendery Center. Students will receive their tickets at rehearsal. All fees and obligations must be paid before your student will be given his/her tickets. If your student has any outstanding obligations, they will receive a green fee notice in place of their tickets. Students will be released from the high school sometime between 10:00-10:30 a.m. to go home. Dress for the ceremony should be shirt and tie for boys, and girls should wear dresses with some sort of strap (spaghetti straps are fine, but no strapless dresses). Students should arrive in the evening by 6:30 p.m. and report to the hallway between the technology room and the cafeteria.
Parents of 8th Graders: Students that are going on the trip to King’s Island on Friday, June 6th, please be at school by 9:00 a.m. that morning and wait outside of the back of the high school gym entrance until the buses are boarded.
On the last day of school, seventh graders will participate in a variety of activities, including a morning assembly, bagel breakfast, movie of their choice, Cowboy cookout and ice cream social, various afternoon activities, and a dance with a DJ. In order to help with the cost of breakfast, lunch, and the DJ, we are asking each student to bring in $5. Students should turn in money to their science teacher by Monday, June 2.

Parents of 5th grade students: Fifth Grade Field Day will be roller skating at the Fun Factory. The cost is $7 per students and includes skates, pizza, drink, and 4 game tokens. Please return the permission slip and $7 to your homeroom teacher. Parent volunteers and chaperones are needed. If you can help, meet at the Fun Factory at 9:45am, volunteers do not ride the buses. Parents skate for FREE!
Reminder from the nurse for 5th and 6th grade parents: 5th grades physicals are due and 6th grade parents need to send in Tdap documentation by June 6, 2014.

“On Tuesday June 3rd, our WMS French Club is organizing an “Amazing Race of Frenchness” right after school. For a small donation, Students will sample food from France, Quebec, and Senegal. They can also form a team of 2-4 (1$ per participant) and go through the fun and cultural challenges we have prepared for them: can they count Euros? Can they sing? Can they play soccer? Can they build an Eiffel Tower out of marshmallows and sticks? There will be prizes for the winners and fun for everyone. All proceeds go towards funding our French class trip to Quebec in 2015. ”

Model UN: The high school Model UN team will have an 8th grade informational meeting in the high school cafeteria on Tuesday, June 3rd.
Interested in Cross-Country and/or Summer fun runs? Incoming 7th and 8th graders should sign up in the MS office or contact coach Randy Nocks, [email@example.com] to be put on the distribution list. Signing up does not equate to committing to run Cross Country in the Fall but will allow you to receive information about the summer fun runs and cross-country team.
8th Grade Boys and Girls: There will be a meeting after school on June 3rd for any 8th grade boys and girls interested in running cross-country next fall. The meeting will be in the high school cafeteria.
6th, 7th & 8th Grade Boys: There will be open gym at 5:00 p.m today for anyone interested in playing basketball.
