Announcements 5/7/12

  • Today we have  two video announcements–the first one is an  EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with Author Veronica Roth, best-selling author of Divergent Series–there were well over 500 people at Joseph Beth Booksellers last Wednesday Evening and our students were granted a brief interview with the author! The second one is an important note about student council for next year! Please go to the following link for the video:
  • Parents and students: Please stop by the front of the  middle school today anytime from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. for an Open House Celebration for our WMS Retirees being hosted by the PSA.   Our staff members that will be retiring at the end of this school year are: Bernie Barre (Assistant Principal), Karen Hordowick (School secretary), Linda MacMillan (Social Studies teacher), and Laurie Marks (Art teacher).  In the case of inclement weather, the celebration will be held in the WMS Learning Center.
  • Parents:  Special requests for next year are due by May 15, 2012.  Please go to the following link if you  would like to make a request:
  • Attention 6th Grade Parents: Ohio immunization regulations for 7th graders require schools have documentation of a tetanus booster known as Tdap or Td prior to 7th grade. Please check with Mrs. Sherman ( or (513-206-7182) to be sure your child’s tetanus booster documentation is on file.
  • All girls trying out for WHS cheerleading:  Pas soon as school is out, walk straight to the high school.  We will get started as soon as you get there.
  • 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders: If you are interested in running for Student Council there will be an informational meeting in Mrs. Hayner’s room (204) this Wednesday morning at 7:50 a.m.  If you can’t make the meeting, please stop by and see Mrs. Hayner on Wednesday.
  • Make It Happen will have their end of the year party in the Art room after school today.  See you there!
  • Variety Show tickets will be sold Tuesday-Friday this week before school and at all lunches.  Tickets are $5.00 each.
  • Attention:  All students interested in playing for the 7th or 8th grade football team next year, there will be a meeting on Tuesday, May 15th after school in the Middle School Gym.  Any questions, please contact Aaron Hancock,, or 513-206-7111.
  • The 8th Grade Panoramic picture is Friday.  Order forms will be passed out in homreoom.  Additional order forms are in the office. Order forms and money can be turned in to the office.
  • Attention current 6th and 7th grade students:  Do you have great school spirit?  Do you want to share your Wyoming pride with others?  Well, if you think you have what it takes to represent the Cowboys, come try out for the 2012-2013 cheerleading squad.  You can try out to cheer for football season or basketball season or both.  Mandatory clinics will be held Monday, May 21 through Wednesday, May 23 from 3:00-5:30 p.m.  Tryouts will be on Thursday, May 24th starting at 3:30 p.m.  Pick up your try-out packet from the main office today!
  • Attention all former Girls on theRun participants:  We would love for you to relive your experience of running a 5K again.   This Saturday is the big race starting at Paul Brown Stadium.  Go on line to register aned get 1/2 off the registration fee.  ‘Hope to see your there.  Also, good luck to all the current members of Girls on the Run!
