Announcements 3/14/12

  • Yearbook Staff:  There will be a meeting today and Friday after school in Room 308.
  • Attention Music Students:  If you have your orders for LaRosa’s Buddy Cards with you, they can be turned in to your Music teachers.   Remember, the final collection will be Friday morning before school outside the large strings room by the cafeteria.
  • There is a meeting today for anyone interested in being on the MS Boys Tennis team at 3:45 p.m. at the pool courts with Varsity Head Coach Plattenburg.
  • All 8th grade girls interested in playing soccer this fall at the high school should attend a meeting this Sunday, March 18th at 1:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.  Information and calendars will be passed out – please bring a parent!
  • Attention Students:  Need something to do on St. Patrick’s day?  Sign-up for the Wyoming Youth Services/Wyoming School Foundation Fun Run this Saturday, March 17th!  After the 5K, enjoy free pancakes!  See Mrs. Hayner for a registration form or sign-up on-line.
  • Attention Students:  Want to help find a cure for cancer?  Bring in your coins for Penny Wars and help the Leukemia Lymphoma Society help fight cancer!  Student Council will begin collecting coins today.  Remember – winners can get a pizza party or donut party.
  • Attention all Tech Squad Members:  We will be leaving at 3:15 p.m.  Please be prompt and meet in the Learning Center!
  • Congratulations to the students who participated in Model United Nations.  All of our teams presented extraordinarily well.  The team representing the country of Myanmar received the award for Outstanding Resolution.  Vishnu Paranandi received an award for Outstanding Leadership.  Ethan Kahn won first place in the World Citizenship Contest and three of our 8th grade students were elected as officers for next year’s proceedings.  Alexander Nocks will be the Assistant Secretary General, Ethan Kahn will be a Council President, and Elizabeth Anderson will be a Council Vice President.  Mr. Allen is very proud of all of you.
  • Mrs. McGlynn’s math classes have created a healthy cookbook for you!  They have made breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks that add up to be a healthy day of eating.  There are 14 complete days.  That is about 56 recipes and all for the cost of only $3.00.  It makes a great Mother’s Day gift.  All money collected will be donated to the Free Store Food Bank.  The cookbooks will be on sale outside the cafeteria today, Thursday, and Friday.
