Blackboard Parent Portal

Dear Wyoming Middle and High School Parent/Guardian,

As many of you know, both WMS and WHS are using Blackboard as our primary means of communication for homework and other class details. We are excited to announce that we will now be offering Blackboard Parent Portal.  Parent Portal will allow parents to have access to their student’s Blackboard class information.  Parents will be able to create their own Blackboard account so they can monitor their student’s progress.  If a family has more than one student in grades 5-12, they will only need one log in to monitor all of their students.  Parents will need to know their student’s six digit student identification number to apply for access.  Please ask your student for this number; it is the same number they log in to Blackboard and enter when buying a school lunch.

Listed below are directions:

To register for Wyoming Parent Portal, parents will need an existing personal email account.

Step 1: Create an Account:  Go to and click on the Create an Account under Parent Portal on the front page of the website.

  • Parents will be asked to create a user account.
  • Parents will need to provide the contact information and personal email address.
  • Once an account is created, an email will be sent for account activation. (see technical tips below if an email is not received)
  • Parents will need to click on the link in the email to activate their account. This link will invite parents to log in and activate the account.
  • Parents will be assigned a username (email address) and password (user defined) to be used to log in to Wyoming City Schools’ website and access Parent Portal.

Step 2: Request Student Information:  These steps must be completed to view student data online.

  • Parent must complete the “Create an Account (step 1)” before they can request student information.
  • Return to and log in using the username and password received in the email from Step 1.
  • Click the search for student button to request student information.
  • Parents will be prompted to provide the student’s last name and student identification number. Once this information is provided in the search, you will be able to “Request an Observation”, which will allow a parent/guardian to view student grades and courses online.
    • For security reasons, users must provide the student’s last name and student identification number.
  • Confirm the request, print out the “Parent/Guardian Request Form,” sign and return the form to the main office of the student’s school.
  • Once the student returns the Parent/Guardian Request Form to the office, parents can expect an email notification within one week regarding the status of their request.  The status will be “approved” or “denied”.  (see technical tips below if an email is not received)
